How can I turn off the excruciatingly stupid spelling correction/word choice function? I HATE IT!

Piece of crap phone thinks I want "Chinese" when I have clearly and correctly spelled "chimera".

An extremely clever piece of tech then. 'Chinese' is more probable than 'chimera'.
Try Settings, Language & Input, Keyboard settings.
