I had the FBI virus on my samsung galaxy s6 about 2 weeks ago. Spent 3 hours total with two different Samsung live chat reps and neither of them had a clue how to help. The only "way" according to them was a factory reset. This phone is new to me and I thought everything I had transfered over from my old cell would be saved/recoverable through gmail account. This is what the rep said. Please help!

Short answer... NO. A factory reset brings the phone back to an empty device so unless you have a backup (cloud, PC), your photos are gone.
