I have a galaxy s4 and I just noticed that my USB cord is beginning to rip. The charger is the one that I got with the phone. I've used other chargers with this phone but I was just curious about what is more important with the charger. Is it the USB cord itself or is it the actual thing that plugs into the outlet? Can I plug any normal USB into my wall charger and get the same effect? I won't be able to buy a new charger for a couple of weeks.

You can use any USB cord with your charger as long as it fits your phone/charger. The cords are basically all the same although some are just for charging and some have "data" lines.
