I'm having trouble in gmail! Sent and Trash emails are also coming out of my labels/folders??

The process I use it to compose an email, send it; then I move the sent email to a label/folder.
I then go to "sent" mail and delete it.
I then go to "trash" and delete it.
When I do this, it also gets deleted in my label/folder?????
I (obviously) am not all that computer literate, but, am unable to resolve this frustrating issue. I wish to keep my "sent" and "trash" as empty as possible.

I don't understand why this happening. When you move email from Sent to the Whatever folder, it should no longer be in Sent. it's been moved out

IOW, after moving there should no Whatever > delete > Trash > delete necessary.

Are you certain you are *moving* the email from Sent and not something else?;
