I had a regular phone until Monday. Went to get a new phone and ended up getting a Samsung Galaxy s5. They told me the SD card i had been using in my non-smart Samsung phone would work in the new phone. So i let them put it in. Now all of my pictures and video are gone from the card. Not on the new phone or even on the old phone. Not on the computer even. It says "my pictures" folder but it is empty. I think the employees deleted them but wanted to see if there was a technical reason for this.

    Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

They should have realised in the store that your new Android phone would want to format (and wipe) the card and asked if you had anything on it you wanted to save.

Different devices prefer to work with differently formatted drive types.

There are card recovery programs that may help, depending on its amount of use since.
