How can I stop the Throw function on my Z1 Compact?

Stopping Throw on Z1 Compact

My issue is with the throw function on my Sony Z1 Compact. Before lollipop came along my phone connected to my kit sound pocket boom speaker and worked perfectly. Now it sounds like a dodgy old cassette tape player (yes I know, I'm old enough to remember cassette tapes and their many issues).
I just want to go back to a place where this was not a problem. Could anyone help delete/disable the throw function? And I mean a step by step approach please. I'm a bit new to fixing phone issues and the like.
