Why can't I load photos from my HTC to facebook?

On facebook status, it has an option to add photos. So I go to my photos that I have taken with my phone, select 2, and then what? The directions I read elsewhere say to click "Done". I don't have a "done". And when I click on "Post to Facebook", nothing happens.
Also, when I edit a picture--like "crop" and I get it just how I want it, then there doesn't seem to be any way to preserve the cropped image. This is so frustrating!!!!!
These are things I do without any difficulty on my laptop! I don't have any instructions with my phone, so I'm really confused about a lot of these little things that become BIG glitches!

Welcome to Android Central! There are two ways to post photos:

1. Open Facebook, tap the Photo option under "What's On Your Mind?", and select the photo(s) from your Camera Roll. Tap Done, then write a post to go along with the photos. Then tap Post at the upper right.

2. Open your Gallery app, select a photo, tap the Share button, then select Facebook. Now write a post to go along with the photo, and then tap Post.
