When my Galaxy S4 broke 2 months before my ATT contract was up, an ATT rep suggested I buy a certified pre-owned S4, activate a new no-contract/prepaid line, transfer my number, and then cancel the line .. and voila! I have replaced my phone for the least expensive option around. Has anyone done this? Does this ring true?
The "early upgrade" program with ATT is silly. Seems you pay full retail price for a new phone, only spread the cost out over the course of years. Why do that if you're contract is up in a few months and can get the phone practically free? Am I missing something?
