Using Cast Screen turns off the phone's Wi-Fi?

I have a Cubot s208 and it is running Android 4.4.2.

I'm trying to use the phone's Cast Screen function with the wireless display app on the Xbox One.

The problem is this. The phone sees the Xbox One as a wireless display, I tap on it to connect and the phone comes up with the message The Phone Will Temporarily Disconnect from Wi-Fi while it's connected to Xbox One.

Of course clicking OK just turns off the wi-fi which means the two can't communicate with each other any more. The Xbox One will show for a brief moment 'connecting to Android_efab...'

So what am I doing wrong here. What setting am I missing? How am I meant to wirelessly cast to a device if the phone turns off the wi-fi?

I'm genuinely lost on this and searching for help justy gets me results on how to wirelessly connect the One to Live.
