Auto brightness or maximum brightness onot Samsung galaxy s6?

I was outside and I couldn't screen due to glaring. I was wondering since the brightness on my phone is low. Did this cause the problem? I saw aYouTube videos and the phone had no glare. First time owing a samsung galaxy.

Amoled screens aren't the greatest in bright sunlight. I use Velis Auto Brightness, which does a better job than the Android auto brightness, but if full sunlight is shining on the phone, I still have to turn to put a shadow on the phone to be able to see anything. That's true of a lot of phones.
