We have found porn video in the downloads on my husbands phone twice. He says he didn't do it. We are trying to find out if it's a virus or maybe sight he going to or another person.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you asked this before? I recall a similar post a couple of weeks ago. It's always possible that there could be malware, but it's still fairly difficult to get true malware on your phone. It's more likely that someone tapped a link in a popup ad, which subsequently downloaded a file. Or someone who was using the phone isn't being completely forthcoming--admitting one's intimate browsing habits doesn't really come easily to most people.

Some general tips to avoid malware:

    1. Avoid shady websites that deal with things like porn, gambling, and "free" (aka pirated) apps/music/movies.

    2. Never ever tap on a link that appears in a popup while browsing, especially if they're warning you that your phone is infected--they're just trying to scare you into installing some bogus "antivirus" app that is probably malicious itself.

    3. Only install apps from well-established app sources like Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore. Read a bunch of app reviews before installing an app to look for any complaints about adware or suspected malware.

    4. Turn on Google's "Verify Apps" function. This allows Google to periodically scan your phone's apps to look for malware. It's usually in your Google Settings app, under Security (although it might also be in the main System Settings, in Settings>Security).

Once the logs have been cleared, I highly doubt they can be recovered.

As the recent black hat hacker conference showed, even a refrigerator connected to the internet can be hacked into, so a well-written virus could download porn, try to crack a government server - anything. (They even hacked into a car with wifi and took over the gas and brake controls remotely. This sort of stuff isn't science fiction any more - we've arrived in the future.)

This is one of those "if you have o ask, you can't" questions.

The phone has to be rooted (which you can do after the fact), you have to know which file the history is kept in and, with most browsers, you'll probably have to know SQL or know the encoding scheme used. Can it be done? Probably. Can you do it? Probably not.
