I cannot see mp3 or video files in Windows 7 or 10 file manager when I connect my phone via usb?

A

AC Question

I frequently like to move files from my phone to my PC, and have been able to do so until recently. But when I now connect my phone via USB, Windows 10 detects the phone and shows me the "Phone" and "Card" as 2 drives (as it's always done). I can actually see a list of all jpgs taken with the camera. However, I can no longer see through File Explorer (or Windows Explorer for windows 7) any mp3 or mp4 files located on the phone. I have done all I'm supposed to in the "show hidden files" section under windows file management to display all files. Any ideas?

Your android is set up to connect as a camera, it needs to connect as a media device
With your phone connected to your computer - On your phone pull down the top menu - it should display the usb connection status. Select the usb status and change the setting from Camera (PTP). to Media Device (MT).
