I have an HTC one m9 and yesterday I was messing around with the buttons on the side (I sorely regret this now...), anyway, previously I had my phone on silent without the "do not disturb" feature, but now when it's on silent the do not disturb will not switch off. When I try to turn it off it automatically takes my phone out of silent. How do I fix this?

One quick way is to factory reset but that's not likely what you want at this time. I don't have an M9, but in the settings menu under sounds you should be able to find the settings to change what you did. Here is what HTC has to offer HTC One M9 - Switching between silent, vibrate, and normal mode - COMMUNICATION - How-tos - Support | HTC Middle East

I have tried using the settings and using the buttons but when I put the phone into silent it keeps automatically turning on do not disturb, then, when I switch do not disturb off it takes my phone out of silent mode. I really didn't want to have to restore my phone to factory settings. To be honest I wouldn't even know how to.
Ps. this is the person who asked the question.
