AC Question

I have a Galaxy Note 2 SGH-1317M and I moved to Cuenca Ecuador.

The two main service providers here can't get my phone to work. Claro and Movistar. My phone is unlocked bought in Canada. When I check on willmyphonework.net it showed yes with all 3-2G, 3G, 4G. Is there any settings or anything else I can do to make my phone work in Ecuador?

Welcome to Android Central! When you insert a SIM from either of those carriers, go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks>Network Operators. Are you able to select Claro or Movistar there?

I didn't watch what they did but I'm sure they tried that. Now I wish I had watched because when I bought a cheapy phone to get me by, I noticed it had a large sized SIM inserted, Last night I took it out, cut it to fit inside the Samsung and tried the Network Operators. Claro showed up but after searching it wouldn't register.
