Why is my nexus 5 skipping my lock screen when I turn it on?

I have a nexus 5 and my security is a pin. I have it set to automatically lock when I turn it off. However, now when I turn it on instead of going to my lock screen. It goes straight to my home screen as if it had no security whatsoever. I have tried restarting my phone, turning off security, everything. Nothing is working, please help!

Try Safe Mode.
Tell us whether that makes a difference.

This worked in safe mode, but when I rebooted my phone, the same error occurred.

Okay. A third-party app is causing trouble. In my own case, when I experienced the same thing on a G3, it was a launcher which I'd downloaded and used for a while before returning to the stock launcher. Rather than uninstall it, I disabled it. You'll have to identify the app responsible in your own case and uninstall it or possibly just disable it.
