I have a Galaxy s5 and i sent a text to someone and cut my phone off and on and got a error?

I cut my phone off and turned it back on and then I got a notification that said REview Message/message not sent. when i clicked on it it just showed me all my threads.I sent the text at 2:05 and now its 7. Did i send the message or not or is it just an error? Im with verizon

Welcome to Android Central! If you powered your phone down while the message was trying to send, then it probably didn't send. This might happen if you were in an area with bad reception, for example, which can cause the phone to take longer to send a message.
