So the button cover (for lack of a better term) on the S Pen that came with my Galaxy Note 4 broke off so I purchased a new one. When I remove the broken one I get the notification that the S Pen has been detached, however when I insert the new one I am still getting the notification that the S Pen has been detached.

The phone does recognize the new S Pen as I am able to write, launch Air Command, etc. It's just not detecting it when I insert it back into the phone. I have tried searching multiple different forums but have not found anyone else who apparently has had this issue.

Any suggestions on how I can get the phone to recognize that the new S Pen has been inserted?

    Thanks!

I believe I found the issue. Did you buy a generic s-pen? After reading some reviews on Amazon regarding generic s-pens, quite a few people are having our issue. I bought mine off of eBay. The seller claimed it was an OEM part... but I don't think so. You might want to get one directly from Samsung.
