Every time i use spotify on my galaxy s6 in the gym..my screen takes on a mind of its own

This issue i thought was related to spotify so i uninstalled this app and reinstalled it.
My volume button goes to zero and google search by voice opens. I try to increase the volume but the volume slides back to zero. Spotify remains open. Its then very difficult to use my phone from there as it keeps going back to google search by vpice 'speak now' screen.

I did a search and I have the exact same issue when using headphones at the gym. Volume fluctuates from high to low, back and forth... and Google Now goes crazy. I have to power phone off.
