..... I have a T-Mobile (aka EE) UK pay monthly account and they assure me my phone is registered to work overseas and they say all is set up correctly however, while on a recent trip to Canada and a work trip to Italy this week, I have been unable to make calls or send texts (Whatsapp and hotel Wi-Fi internet work fine) - I get the error message "You are not registered to a network".
EE suggest I call them next time I am abroad - somewhat difficult when I cannot call out!!
I have tried to connect manually and automatically to the listed networks but get a fail message. PLEASE help .......

When you turn your phone on abroad it should automatically pick up the nearest carrier. When you turn on your phone abroad do you give it a couple of minutes to search for one? I would even suggest giving it about 30 mins to search for a carrier.

If not I'm sure EE has an overseas number you could perhaps phone from and they can talk you though it?
