How come I can't see the Whatsapp, Gmail and stock SMS icons on my watch?

[AC Question]

I can get notifications from Whatsapp, Gmail and SMS, but I can't see those icons/apps on my watch. Unless someone messages me or email me, I can't find and open up those apps on my watch. I can see Wechat and Hangout, but not the others. Does anyone know if this is normal? I have the new Huawei Watch paired to a Galaxy Note 4. Thanks.
