which model moto x should i buy for use in japan?

i'm looking to buy a moto x, preferably the new model, but the 2nd gen would suffice too if i have to, to use in japan on ntt docomo or softbank and it would be great if i could also use it on t-mobile and/or Verizon as well. i was told that in order for Japanese carriers to sell you service, the device must have the "Technical Conformity Mark"

Can anyone confirm this and also tell me which variant(s) of the phone(s) have this mark?
