Why did my play store stop working?

My play store used to work, and then one day I went into it, and it keeps telling me to enable background data, and I have. I have restarted my phone many times and I have enabled and disable my background data many times as well with no luck. Please can someone help me out ASAP if possible. I have the Samsung A5.
