Why my wake up alarm and incoming calls numbers are shouted in silent mode

My Galaxy A5 started shouting the time of the wake up alarms and incoming calls numbers when in vibration mode ( most likely after an automatic system update, over which I have no control ( auto update is Not ticked) - Android version at the moment 4.4.4). All Notifications are off, all sound boxes UN ticked, volume slider is to minimum, Music, video, games and other media too and yet it keeps shouting the callers numbers and the alarm time in inappropriate times, when I am at work . How to get rid of these "speaking" notifications?
