    Welcome to Android Central! The easiest way is to connect via USB and use Windows Explorer to drag and drop the files to the hard drive. The pictures should be in the /DCIM/Camera directory.

    You should consider turning Google Photos Auto Backup on, so that your photos get backed up automatically to your Google Photos cloud. If you set the quality to "High Quality" (not "Original"), you get unlimited storage. High Quality limits the resolution to 16 megapixels (which is plenty good for almost everyone), and compresses the photos by about 10% (essentially unnoticeable).
