I am using a smart phone (Oppo) which has android. Since I am not very technical, a friend of mine input her gmail account to get it running for me when I bought the phone.

Now I am concerned if somehow she may be able to access my personal files especially photographs and videos. I have checked the settings and my photos and videos are residing on the SD card. Auto sync option for apps is turned off.

But is there any chance that my photos and videos are flowing to the person with the gmail account in any way automatically or through syncing? Do photos and videos reside on a cloud in android?

    Looking forward to help.

Hi and welcome to Android Central.

I would definitely create your own Gmail account and update it on your phone. Google likes to sync everything so you are much better having it in your name.

Plus you want all those auto uploads to backup and save your photos.
