1) Why is my battery life draining so fast? 2) As well, it often refuses to charge properly.

As much as I wiggle the cord around on both ends when I plug in my phone to charge it, the red light usually doesn't go on like it always did when I first bought it. Sometimes I have to change outlets or turn it on and off frequently before the red light comes on. What a I doing wrong?
