HTC One Pattern changed randomly?

[AC Question]

Hi - was using my HTC One M7 today normally and it randomly crashed. When I turned it on again I was no longer able to use my pattern lock. Its has apparently changed... Has anyone else experienced this issue? What can I do to get back into the phone without hard resetting? Annoyingly I've just updated to Lollipop so the 'Forgot Pattern' option is no longer there... What can I do?

Try logging into Android Device Manager on a PC or laptop using your Google account and change the security settings via that.
