Old phone as media player

AC Question

Hello,
I have a spare galaxy young duos useless.
I'm trying to use this phone as a running tool with a sport tracker and a media player (google play music) installed.
Is there any very light rom without all the apps that I'm not planning to use.
The phone is useless... I can't even use google play music. It says that I need to install "google apps services", but I don't have space available

If its useless, just uninstall all the apps you don't use until you have enough room to install what you need. If it's just for mp3, can't you use the music app the phone came with?

I did uninstall all the downloaded apps, but I cant uninstall apps like gmail, maps nor the Samsung apps. I need the Google play music because I have a subscription and all my playlist are there...

If I have root access, is possible to delete all the useless apps?

What kind of phone do you have that you can't even install a few apps? Do you have other things on the phone you can move off the internal memory?

Sure, with root you can pretty much do anything... although I wouldn't just indiscriminately start uninstalling system apps. Might brick the phone.
