3G connection is not working on my moto G. Only Edge (E) Any thoughts ?

Hey, so I have a moto g 2014 and only 2g speed is working on it. I set the preferred network to 3g but it didn't work. On the top it shows the E signal for 2g not H. I am running android 5.0.2 lollipop. I just want to know if it's a software or hardware problem and how to fix it. Thank you.

I think you should check with your network provider just in case there's some problem with your SIM card or you need to change something in your mobile settings. Have you already tried using that same card in another phone? Or checking your phone with another one?

I did check with my network provider and they told me nothing was wrong from their end and it's probably the phone itself. Is there a way to check if it's a hardware issue ?

Well, using a different card in your phone and testing your card in a different phone will give you some clues of what's going on.

I tried it on a windows phone and 3g worked. I just find it really bizarre that wifi and 2g are perfectly fine but only 3g is not working !

Not sure what to suggest. Other Moto phones had some network connection problems after Lollipop. You can check this thread and see if any of those fixes work for you. The thing is you can't rule a hardware problem out.
