LG P716 being blocked by Google message.

My LG P716 in Australia is being blocked by a continual message "Sorry, Unfortunately Google Search has stopped" which is blocking all other phone operations. I have rebooted it including removing & replacing the battery, removed and replaced the SIM (which works fine in another phone), checked my Google Account is active, but nothing clears it. I have contacted LG and they say it is a Google problem and there is nothing wrong with my phone, but it has been over a week now and still no rectification. Can anyone assist please.
