Welcome to Android Central! Which device do you have, and which email provider do you use? The Gmail app will give you the fastest delivery.

Turning off the polling time (the time between checking for emails) with an IMAP account will give you the email within seconds - the server sends it to the phone, the phone doesn't look for it on the server. I normally hear my email tone on my phone go off before I get the notification in my desktop email program.

Hey Rukbat, I thought IMAP accounts on the stock Email app could refresh no more frequently than every 15 minutes. Or did I miss a setting? I never use the stock email app--I'm just trying to recall what options there are on my wife's phone, which I set up for her.
