My phone wont charge in the car

I have a droid razr and everytime i try charging it in the car it automatically turns off and will try to turn back on and go to the charging screen like normal when it is off but then before it can it will turn off again and it will repeat this process and gets to hot to even touch if i leave it on the car charger long enough it does this with all car chargers but will charge on a normal wall charger in my house any ideas on how to fix this?

How does it charge if you plug it into a computer's USB port?

If that also doesn't work, there's something wrong with the charging circuit in the phone. If that works, you may just have a couple of bad car chargers.
