Droid Turbo Maps GPS and Hotspot don't work when talking on phone

AC Question

I use my cell phone heavily for work, driving around using my GPS to find my patients' homes, often receiving calls on bluetooth in the process. My LG G2 worked for this, but my new replacement, a Droid Turbo, stops GPS when I'm on the phone, so I can't effectively drive and talk. Then I document on my chromebook using the hotspot. My old LG G2 worked fine for this, but now I lose connectivity instantly when I pick up the phone. Is there a fix to this?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using Advanced Calling (VoLTE)? When you're on a call, does your LTE icon disappear? Unless you're on VoLTE, phones on Verizon that don't have dual radios (which is all of them these days) can't access calling and data at the same time. If your G2 was on a GSM carrier, that's probably why you could with that phone.

Not sure about the GPS issue, though.

The Droid turbo requires advanced calling 1.0 (volte) to get simultaneous voice and data. The g2 can achieve simultaneous voice and data without volte.
