Why won't my Note 5 mirrorlink with my Pioneer NEX 8100?

I have a Note 5 and recently had a Pioneer NEX8100 installed, and i cannot get them to mirror link. The phone screen shows a phone - and a car, with the moving circle around the car, when i tap the screen of the phone, otherwise it is just black, and there is nothing on the Pioneer screen -
