I am tired of providing personal cellphone number to different applications and websites which ask it for verification (some for spamming) purposes. I don't actually know if former is true until I confirm account through SMS. The safer way I see is to have secondary SIM card just for this which usually is pre-paid. I am not sure if those are rechargeable though which is important because I don't want it to be disposable or with expiry date because some apps I think require working SIM to let you log in. I know Facebook uses SMS as backup or to re-confirm account in case they sense unauthorized login attempt.

My question is it possible to get SIM card with US or UK numbers being outside of those countries? Is there such thing as virtual SIM card with US, UK numbers that I buy online? Maybe there is also small chance these are sold locally where I live?

    Thanks
