Asus Zenfone 2 laser OTA Update!

I purchased a new Asus Zenfone 2 Laser and on starting it downloaded a system update of around 500mb, on restart gave an error and rebooted, in the meantime all other google apps had updated in the wifi background and somehow on restart it was just crashing. I decided to factory reset it and then test. On resetting, I now dont get the system OTA update at all, have updated all other google apps and its working fine but the OTA update is not coming. There is an option to manual update which am not too keen on. Support says my OS is latest for OTA, if thats the case what was the system update I got yesterday and on factory reset why did it not come again? When I click update nothing happens except date time change! Please guide, do I wait for the OTA? It shows Android 5.0.2 and the build is latest as far as OTA is concerned, yesterday post the factory reset what was the update and why is it not happening post the factory reset is my query!
