I see no reason for blocking a dark theme ? There is no use for it besides ignoring customer demands and unsatisfy them.
Advantages are ...
... having a readable screen at night and not looking into a bright flashlight.
... not getting blind in the car when someone's calling
... battery lasts much longer (my experience is up to 10 to 15 % more !)
This would be some simple lines of code so why is google so bullheaded at this point ?
If your car manufacturer would say sorry mate, you've bought a black car but we've decided now that you'll have a white car ´now, how you would react ?
