[Need Help] Kitkat to Lollipop upgrade unable to restore data

Hi guys. As many of you would be aware the LG G2 recently got given the option to upgrade to Lollipop. My girlfriend thought "awesome let's do it" so I told her to make a backup first because I know these things don't always go smoothly, so we went ahead and took a backup using the LG PC Suite. After upgrading to Lollipop all data is gone from the phone (thankfully we took a backup) and every attempt at restoring the backup we have has been futile.

The backup comes in a series of by the looks of it encrypted tar fires. Example - backup_0.tar.enc, backup_1.tar.enc

There is also a brinfo file:

Does anyone have any ideas on how to take this kitkat backup and restore it to the freshly installed lollipop device?
