Broke my Samsung phone (ATT) and want to start receiving texts on tablet. Am using ATT Messaging (web based app that syncs messaging across phone, tablet, and computer) to have texts forwarded to and sent from tablet now, but app is very slow and cumbersome. Want to know if I can swap phone SIM with tablet SIM and download an app that will treat the tablet as a phone and allow me to text directly without the whole syncing process. Have Samsung S5 and wanting to use LG G Pad 7.0 LTE

    1. Yes, you can swap SIMs, assuming they're the same size. (If not, your local AT&T store will probably give you a new SIM for the tablet for free.)

    2. Any SMS app should work - including the native ones - AT&T and Messages. You can always use SMS Backup & Restore to back up from any device and restore to any other device.

The SIM swap does work (tablet has data service and shows S5's phone number), but can't seem to find an app that allows for SMS texting directly through the tablet. Seems thay all require that you sync with a phone either via wifi or bluetooth. And again, my phone is DEAD, so thats not an option.
