SIM CARD not detected

Hi, my Samsung Galaxy S4 keeps telling me that there is no sim card inserted. I tried getting a new sim card and that worked but only for a week and then it started again and my sim cards does not work in other phones either. It's like my phone destroys the sim cards.

Welcome to Android Central! Do the gold contacts of the SIM card look damaged at all?

The No SIM Detected is a common problem for the S4. Other posts suggest stuffing something in the slot like foam or a guitar pick. I can't say how well that works. I had that issue and sent the unit to Samsung for repair. The repair center couldn't duplicate the error. When I got it back, it worked fine for a while then began having problems again. Samsung said the phone was then out of warranty and would not repair it despite the previous service ticket. Take it to your carrier's store and see if they will exchange it. I ended up buying a new handset.
