Will Marshmallow install over a "custom" rom of "Lollipop" 5.0.2???

Which custom rom are you using?

When you flashed a custom rom onto your device, the custom rom went over your stock rom. So i would say yes, the update will go over your current rom, I would suggest that you wait for the developers behind the custom rom you are using to make an update to the rom that will give you the Marshmallow update.

Hello and thanks for the response. The phone was purchased second hand and I don't know which custom rom was used to flash the phone, nor who the rom developer is/was. I'll try and find out.

Another question,...will marshmallow install over kit kat 4.4.2?

To find out what custom rom your phone is using, go to settings then go to "about phone" and it should appear there. As for Marshmallow going over KitKat, it would as you would be upgrading the operating system. It would be similar to a custom rom going over the default stock rom, before upgrading to Marshmallow I recommend that you do back up your device and have the stock rom ready if you don't like the Marshmallow update.
