My phone just reset to its factory settings after ringing it via Google Find my phone.

So I was just trying out the Google's find my phone feature, and when I rang it somehow my LG G4 phone rebooted itself and reset all the settings to the factory defaults, and also lost all the data.
As I can see this automatic reboot is a known issue among HTC and LG phones and the cause can be both software and hardware failures. I was wondering if that was the case with my phone or did the google ring have something to do with it?
