Mobilego not reading a SD card on my Google Nexus 5

I'm trying to download music onto my Google Nexus 5 using mobilego, but when i connected my phone and clicked on the music side bar it tells me that the SD card is unavailable. How do I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! As I'm sure you know, the Nexus 5 doesn't have an SD slot. Any reason why you don't just use Windows Explorer to drag and drop music files to the Nexus 5's internal storage?

Yes I was aware that it doesn't have an SD card. I tried to do it by plugging my phone into my computer and putting it on the internal storage but the drive didn't pop up on my computer

When you connect via USB, do you see a USB notification in the status bar? If so, swipe down, tap it, and make sure MTP is selected. It shouldn't show up as a drive on your computer--it should show up as "Nexus 5." You don't see that?
