Nexus 7 On/off button not working!

[AC Question]

I can only turn my tablet on by plugging it in to a wall charger. To turn the screen off I simply go to 'settings' 'display' and change the length of time to put it to sleep! Anyone else have this problem? I've only had it for a short period of time. Please get back to me with any suggestions. I did read if you knew what you were doing you could open the back with a guitar pick, using a cotton swab and alcohol you clean up the area. If this doesn't work...or your do something wrong you will end up with a $200 plus paperweight.

Welcome to Android Central! Is this a 2012 or 2013 version? Did you buy it used or refurbished from a store, or from a private seller? If you bought it refurbished, it most likely has a limited warranty, which you should take advantage of.
