Nexus Five Turns on and off Red flashing Light Now wont Charge?

So today my phone shut off randomly and then the google sign came up and then would shut off again. It was still charged at 50% and after persisting I got it to turn on again for a while. Now I am charging it and It will turn on but is stuck at zero percent and wont go up and if I take the charger out it automatically dies. Also when it dies it flashes this weird Red light I've never seen before. I can only relate this to the xbox red light of death and it scaring me lol. If any one can help I would really appreciate it !

My nexus 5x is doing the same thing now, did you ever get this fixed?
