I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 cell. Green dude...do not turn off target. Is Odin mode terrible?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone. It wouldnt let me send or read any texts. I also was unable to make outgoing calls. I pushed the power, volume, and home buttons all at the same time and it has been stuck in this state for over an hour

Welcome to Android Central! Download Mode is just used for copying a new firmware file onto the phone. If you're not connected to a computer via USB, it's not actively doing anything. Power down by pressing and holding Power and Vol Down, or just pull the battery for 10 seconds. Then power back on normally.
