Galaxy S5 Broken black screen but phone works can't get swipe password unlocked

[AC Question]

My phone screen cracked and now is all black but the phone works as I can see the leds working and receiving messages and calls. I can't connect to my computer to get my info off because I have a swipe password. I currently have a usb otg connector non hdmi. will this work or will it need to be hdmi? also what is the process to get the info off. thanks
