I'm new to android phones, and it boggles the mind that after using smart switch to transfer data from my old iphone to the S6, the S6 doesn't back up any of that data but instead backs up from your google account which for me has nothing in it (I searched and couldn't even find out how to add contacts and text messages to my google account). What I'd like to have which was a standard feature on the iphone is the ability to back up all my stuff (contacts, text messages, notes, email, apps) periodically so that when something goes wrong I can restore to that point, preferably multiple points because when I did a factory restore I also was only given a restore point from that day so I wasn't even sure if I was restoring to a time when the phone was okay. I appreciate any advice whether it be using an app or setting this all up through my google account.
