Nexus 5 I no longer get a screen "prompt" when a call comes in??

Up until a few weeks ago, when my phone was "asleep" (which is most of the time)..and a call came in, I could hear my ring...and a screen came up showing Income call or something similar. I could swipe and answer the call.

Recently, when the phone is asleep, and the screen is black, If I hear an incoming call's ring, no amount of touching or swiping does anything. Touching the volume button or the power button cuts the call off immediately. I must have changed some setting incorrectly, but I do not know what. any help appreciated.

Answer found. When I was stopping NOTIFICATIONS on a number of apps, I inadvertently stopped ....Notification...... from the ....Dialer..... App. Works fine, now.
