Why can't I get Internet after dropping my phone?

I recently dropped my Samsung Nexus on its back. The back panel came off and the battery fell out, but nothing appeared to be damaged. When I next turned the phone on, it could connect to WiFi and data, but I had no Internet. At some point when I wasn't looking, my phone suddenly downloaded several emails (meaning it was briefly connected, I suppose), but it has not connected in the 24 hours since. I know my phone is kind of old, but it was a gift, I'm on someone else's plan, and I'm in college. So I'm trying to avoid replacing it if at all possible. I've looked around and haven't found anything on this. Any help would be immensely appreciated!

Bring it right to the wifi router. If it works there, the antenna got disconnected. If not, something broke when you dropped it.
